Second Day - Addis Ababa

Today started with a well needed lie-in! We then read our books on the sun terrace for about an hour, with Hannah catching the sun really quickly and already has a burnt nose! Jonny is yet to catch the sun, much to his disappointment. We then went into the city to the Hilton Hotel to change our money. $50 which is about 35 pound (can't find the pound sign on African computers!) was changed into around 1000 birr (the local currency). We then went on to a government owned hotel for some lunch, where spaghetti bolognese is 45 birr which is just over a pound. We then came home to finally find that we have some internet, power cut depending! This made us both feel more comfortable as we were able to contact friends and family at home. For dinner we went to the Greek club, on the other side of Addis, where we were able to have our first 'proper' meal, such as steak, which cost just over 3 pound. It is now 11pm Ethiopian time here so we will be going to bed soon, ready for a day in the mountains tomorrow. Thanks for reading :) Jonathon and Hannah
