We are going to Ethiopia for our Special Interest Placement. We will be in Ethiopia for 4 weeks in January, with 3 of those weeks working in a school in a town called Bahir Dar. We will aim to keep this blog updated as often as possible but we may not be able to update it every day.

Day 6 - Bahir Dar
Hi all!!! :) Today has been a very lazy day :) After a nice lie in we were able to go to a hotel down the road for some breakfast and to test the internet, which so far has been alright! Fingers-crossed :) When we returned to the house we met the lady that lives in the house grounds, who is also a kindergarten teacher at the school. She is now described herself as our acting 'mother' she said how she will help us get to and from school and pick up food if we need it. We then headed into town to get some supplies, even though we are aiming to eat out the majority of the time! We also had a very late lunch at a lakeside resort, sitting right on the edge of the lake. :) However eventually, we had to return back to the house to get our planning done for tomorrow. Tomorrow is the first day of school after Genna and we are both worried at what the children will think of us, as we have been told that some of them have very little understanding of English. However, we were able to talk to our family and friends back home over dinner at the Homland Hotel, where we had had breakfast. Now we have to turn in for an early start in the morning! We are really looking forward to school tomorrow. :) We will try and update the blog again tomorrow to let you know how it went :)
