Hiii :) today we had a well needed lie in, until we were awoken by the arrival of Ann Rispin, founder of the school where we are working, and many other schools in Addis Ababa. We went to Homland for breakfast (definitely becoming our second home) and then we all went to Bahir Dar Hotel for some lunch. After a skype session home to our friends, we went to Lake Shore, which is on the banks of Lake Tana. After some haggling with the locals about prices, we got a deal to ride across the lake for 45 minutes for 180 Birr (less than £6). It was so beautiful and peaceful! We then got off the boat at a place called Desset, where we got some more food and watched the sunset across the lake. It was such a lovely afternoon. We then went home, played some cards and Pass the Pig, and then all had an early night! On the Sunday, we had another lie in, then went to Homland, then the Ghion hotel, then a Pizzeria, then headed off to our school with Ann to do some planning. She has been teaching for around 50 years, and has been Headmistress in multiple schools. She also used to inspect schools, so she has so much advice, experience and techniques to offer us as trainee teachers. It was so worthwhile to spend a few hours planning and discussing resources with her, and we definately learnt some things that can be used in all our future teaching practices, not just our SIP placement. We also felt really ready and excited for school the next day! It was the first weekend here in Ethiopia that we felt settled and happy :) Han and Jonny xxx
